2007 National Survey on Drug Use & Health shows an alarming increase
in the illicit use of prescription medications over the past decade
One third of all new abusers of prescription drugs are 12-17 years old
Half of teens who abuse prescription drugs also report using two or more
substances
Prescription drug abuse rises with drinking severity
