• Purposes
– Scan the National Drug Code Number of the
pill bottle
– Get name of pill and expiration date of
prescription by cross-checking with the NDC
database on the computer

Does the Scanner Work?
• Yes! No configuration required.
• How it works:
– Quickly reads barcodes
– Converts them to ASCII data
– Sends the code to a text field
– Follows the code with a carriage return
