2012-2013 GOALS
SUPPORT DOW HIGH KEY CLUB
-Provide financial assistance for officers to attend state convention
-Provide financial assistance to send president to key leader training
-Place ad in state convention magazine
-Support club through attendance of meetings and participation in club
activities
SALVATION ARMY PROJECT SHARE
-Provide financial assistance to pay high school and
college students to serve as counselors
-This program benefits several hundred midland area
youth
KIDS AGAINST HUNGER
-Assist Northwood Univ. Circle K members in both the
purchase of food and the packaging of meals
-Very cost effective
-In 2012 this group packaged more than 10,000
meals with the help of approximately 200 students
and members of Kiwassee Kiwanis
WEST MIDLAND FAMILY CENTER
-Dow College Opportunity Program
-Provides financial support for a program that
encourages and prepares low income high school
students to attend college
-Students are from families without a history of
advanced education
EAGLE VILLAGE
-Provide “sweat equity” through 2-3 days of on site work
-2013 project will involve installing siding on one or more
campus buildings
-Will provide financial assistance for purchase of materials
-Wonderful opportunity to interface with resident students
Provide financial and other assistance as requested to
North Midland Family Center for youth leadership
program
- Seed money to assist in planning was provided in
2012
MERIDIAN HIGH SCHOOL
-Provide leadership, financial assistance and moral support
to establish a Key Club
-Provide financial assistance to send Key Club officers to
state convention
-Provide financial assistance for president to attend Key
Leader training
Continue to work with Midland County Probate Court,
Juvenile Care Facility and other organizations to
identify a project to support
• particular interest in drug abuse prevention or
treatment
Explore the possibility of Key Club at BCHS in the next
one to two years
(challenge evening club?)
Add one or more members to senior youth committee
and continue to encourage active participation in
committee meetings, activities and “sweat equity”
projects
