By the end of this session the candidate will:
• Have a systematic approach to the assessment and
treatment of the poisoned patient
• Know where to obtain expert advice in the event of a
suspected poisoning
• Recognise some common physical signs that may be
associated with poisoning
• Know the potential antidotes to common/important
poisons
