NTA Models of Recovery 2010
Park Plaza, Leeds
Mission Statement
Doncaster Recovery Empowerment and Mentoring meet to
offer emotional and practical support for people looking to
make changes from problematic drug use in a safe nonjudgemental environment. D.R.E.A.M promotes the belief
that a life without drugs is possible by providing a sense of
safety and relief provided by individuals who have had
similar experiences and overcome similar problems.
Why the need for

58.4 % (1706 clients) of PDU’s were in treatment within the past 2 years.
This is an increase from the last 2 years; 07/08 52.8% and 06/07 44%.

46% of PDU’s were in treatment during 08/09 (1342 clients). This is an
increase from the previous year when 44% (1265 clients) of the estimated
PDU population were in treatment.

12.5% (364 clients) of PDU’s were known to treatment in 07/08, but had not
been treated in the last year.

7.8% (228 clients) of PDU’s were known to treatment, but had not been
treated in the past 2 years.

34% of PDU’s (988 clients) were unknown to Tier 3 & 4 treatment

Wasted Years
Verse 1
3am haunted by the pain again
Hating waiting, body aching
A life of wasted years
Verse 2
Now I know, staring up at the night sky
Desperation in this generation
No more tears to cry
Bridge
I feel your soft embrace tonight
Hold me close, keep me warm
Your pulling me to you feels right
Take it slow, dragon flows
Chorus
Time keeps standing still, stop me falling
Angels watching over, holding my hand as I die
Now the feeling fades away
Memories stolen help me find my way back
Discover myself that I hide
Verse 3
Daylight came, lift my spirits chance to
change
A realisation, no condemnation
No more wasted years.
Bridge
I feel the hope and strengths insight
Say goodbye, break the tie
You are the past my futures bright
Time to grow; now I know
Chorus
Shine the light reveal, now I’m calling
Angels watching over keeping me safe
rectify
Now the moments here to stay
Eyes wide open help me find my way back
Discover myself be my guide
