 If you have limited income and resources, you
may be able to get extra help paying for your
Medicare prescription drugs.
 Most save up to 75% on drug costs
 Some save up to 95% on drug costs

 Annual Income Limits for 2009
$16,245/year ($1,354/month ) for an individual
$21,855/year ($1,821/month ) for a married
couple living together
Some income is NOT counted, including some
wages and money received from some
assistance programs

$12,510 for an individual
$25,010 for a married couple living together
Some resources are NOT counted, including
your primary residence and one vehicle

Who should apply?
 Anyone who has Medicare and needs help paying
for their drug plan premiums and medications
 Even if you think you have too much income or
resources, you still might qualify—so apply!

 Medicare will pay for most of your prescription
drug costs
 You will automatically receive help paying
your Medicare Part D

Deductibles
Co-pays

 Go to www.socialsecurity.gov
 Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213
 Visit your local Social Security office
 Visit your local SRS office
 Call SHICK at 1-800-860-5260
