Since 1991, Major Index Crimes in Monroe County have decreased by almost 50%, according to the FDLE. 2007 Budget: 2010 Budget: $44.3 million $40.8 million Wise use of tax dollar$ • Implemented county-wide fleet card for gas, saving money and increasing fiscal accountability. • Teleconferencing saves hundreds of hours of commuting time, saving money, gas and vehicle wear and tear. • Eighth perfect audit in a row. • Going paperless requires less storage space, lower supply costs and less wear and tear on office equipment. • On line training for officers means less travel time, less instructor costs and less overtime.
