Ethical Influences Of The Cricket
World Cup
Self
• If big names or starts get taken out of the
games due too cheats, I would have less of an
interest in the game and would be less likely
to watch
• Now that New Zealand are in the world final I
am more likely to watch
Others
• The effect cheats have on others will depend on
peoples interest in cricket , but if they are purists in the
game their interest of watching will drop and they will
be put off.
• People will become more suspicious about cheating if
they found out about a team that had cheated before.
• Are people around us such as class mates more
interested to be watching the cricket world cup now
that New Zealand has made it to the final? As there
was 41,000 fans at the semi-final that occurred on
Tuesday.
Society
• Penalty for players involved with match fixing can be up to five
years suspension from the game and can also have a large fine. This
effects society because if all the good or favourites aren't playing,
will fans still watch the game? If so why?
• How does society react differently towards the cricket when there
are promotional events taking place such as the tui catch a million
competition?
• Does society want to watch more cricket now that New Zealand
have made it into the world cup and has it become more popular
within New Zealand?
• How would New Zealand react to drug cheats or max fixing now
leading up to the final?
• Different societies from different countries react in different ways?
For example Indian fans and other Asian fans go a bit more wild
over cricket even if they are losing
