• Announced on TV, radio, and in
newspapers.
• On the internet at www.foodsafety.gov
What You Should Do With A
Recalled Food Product
• Return the product to the store or place of
purchase, or
• Throw the product away.

Food Tampering
• Signs of food tampering.
– Broken seals.
– Safety button has been popped.
– Unusual stains.
– Unusual smell or odor.
– Damage to the package.

Foodborne Illness
• Warning Signs
- Stomach Cramps
- Chills
- Fever
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Headache
• Contact your healthcare provider if:
- Diarrhea is bloody.
- Diarrhea and vomiting last more than 3 days.
- Symptoms of stiff neck, severe headache, and
fever occur all at once.
