Extensions related to TA
The work carried out so far is consistent
with what declared in the TA both in content
and timing
Novelty compared to TA:
Contributed to establishment of a new IETF
working group on packet sampling (PSAMP) in
July 2002
Co-chairing the IETF PSAMP wg
Authoring one of the two current working group
Internet drafts of the PSAMP wg

Overall Role
WP4 has the following fundamental roles:
providing and integrating tools for the retrieval of
real-world measurements data
providing storage (database) for raw data and
processed data
The raw data will serve as input for:
Visualisation tasks (WP6)
Modelling and simulation tasks (WP5)
The tools developed will be the input for:
System integration, trial and evaluation (WP7)

Exploitation Plans
TILAB’s implementation of a CISCO service
assurance agent for inter-domain monitoring will be
tested in Telecom Italia networks
NEC will port the IPFIX meter & protocol
implementation to its HW router products
TID will use the INTERMON topology discovery tools
to coordinate multi-provider scenarios
The experience gathered with the INTERMON passive
measurements tools should support SR to set up new
projects with national Telecoms
