University of Guelph
Nepal is a landlocked country located in South Asia
and is bordered within India and China. It is divided
into 3 ecological zones, which are the lowland, the
midland, and the highland. It has all 4 seasons.
chief state is the president whereas the Prime
Minister is the head of the government.
Economically, Foreign aid is highly vital and Nepal
is highly dependent towards their trading with India.
India has also been known as Nepal’s biggest
trading partners. Importing usually had textiles and
fabric, machinery and even raw materials.

Nepal continued..
- The Terai located on the southern of lands and
is divided to the north of Himalayan foothills
and south, by the Ganges river.
- Back in the days, these areas were covered
with tropical vegetation. This section of Nepal is
where agriculture takes place, therefore
consists of farms.
- 16% of arable land is available
- 0.8% are provided for permanent crops
- The remaining 83.2% are for others

Economic and Political aspects within
Nepal
- 75% of the labour force is due to agriculture while the remaining is 7% for industrial labour and then t
theres 18% for additional services.
- Though the agriculture contribution to the economy declined, it still stands as a predominant state of the
economy and also to the GDP. They’ve had employment opportunities for the rural areas/lands of Nepal.

The Problem?
If Agriculture is the mainstay of Nepal’s economy,
then what could possibly benefit the farmers?
With over 11,680 sq. km available of Irrigated land,
how can farmers generate income from this in order
to make the use of land otherwise it is considered
as wasted surface area.

West Coast Seeds; To export
My Primary target is to supply Canadian Pisium Sativum Climbing green peas into Nepal as a result of terraced
land improvements, and therefore it can generate income for farmers.
They meet the purity specifications under USDA and CFIA.
They meet their criteria of supplying fresh and providing well-structured seeds that have a high rate of
germination. If anything interferes with this, their waste is returned to their retail partners and then is donated as
charity for developing countries.

I’m Introducing to you a seed
which is licensed under the
brand, “Little Marvel”.
“Little Marvel” packages seeds
which are required for growing
peas. This is offered by The
West Coast Seeds.
- Pisium Sativum (climbing green peas) are
cool-season vegetable crops grown under
temperature climate conditions. The seeds
designated for pea growth have multiple
purposes and advantages.
Consist of a good amount of protein, fibre
fractions, and energy content that is essential
and suitable to the diets for all livestock and
aquaculture diets.
Terraced fields can neutralize soil content through the abundance of vines that
break down Nitrogen. When Peas are grown as green manures they are capable of
covering crops pretty quickly to ensure that nitrogen is in the soil. Terraces can make the
most
of the content in the soil and this can initiate the irrigation of crops. If Nitrogen is vital
to the soil, then overall terraced walls are more moisturized and these fields would
refrain from
erosion, droughts even in the dry seasons. This is essential for Terrace maintenance.

Potential benefits from the company and Canadian exports
West Coast Seeds can mark their exports and it can be linked as helping developing countries,
therefore they can benefit from exemplifying their charitable consumers as a method of selling and
advising customers in the public to purchase their goods.
Canada is interested in Hydropower potentials and even for it’s development. Also Canada and
Nepal can benefit from advertising Nepal’s tourism to both Canada’s travel agents and tour guides.

The West Coast Seeds are members of the CSTA. This
company has took part in imports and exports of goods.
Nepal’s benefits in receiving exporting
goods
Nepal will continue to gain income as agriculture as it vital to the economy
and population.
West Coast Seeds not only supply modified seeds but they offer services
for organic gardeners. Also, there have better outcomes for Terrace
maintenance.
Without the use of synthetic chemicals there are multiple advantages, as its
not expensive and organic gardening doesn’t require much of a conceptual
approach but much rather common sense and easy guidelines for
Nepalese farmers to follow.
These seeds are ensured to be fresh and are provided to its highest rate of
germination. Whereas they are not treated with any fungicides, insecticides,
or chemicals and this is substituted with molasses, clay etc. which are
considered to be natural ingredients.
Conclusion: Overall,Nepal can generate both income and better terrace
maintenance through the use of Pisium Sativum; which are licensed by Little
Marvel. Since Nepal depends a lot on agriculture for earning income and
obtaining goods I believe that Climbing Peas will pull a positive influence on
irrigated lands and even for the outcomes of the planted seeds. Farmers
benefit from doing this as it is not lasting and therefore its providing the
nutrition and rich contents that are required in the soil.
