• Worldwide poll of 1201 chief executives in
69 countries
• “Very confident” up from 31% to 48%
• “Confident” up from 81% to 88%
• Survey showed renewed opportunity for
growth, with determination to take
advantage of better global economic
conditions and increased customer
demands

3. NZ Business Confidence on Rise
• Seasonally adjusted business confidence
rose from -8% to 3%.
• This confidence is slowly filtering through
to new hiring and investment, but this
needs to accelerate to drive a sustainable
recovery.

• 17.9% increase in trade in year ending
September 2010 – the largest increase
since year ending September 1973.
• 14.2% annual increase in export prices.
Follows 21.4% decrease in previous year.
• A Government focused on growing exports
is good for Nelson
