Factor Incomes
• Labor - Compensation of employees:
• Fixed capital that are own-used in
production provides mixed income;
• Non-produced assets provide rents; and
• Investment of financial capital provides
dividends and interest.

• Factors of production – labor and capital (in the
form of fixed asset capital and in the form of non
produced asset like Land)

Uses of Household Sector Accounts
Data provided by the accounts help in study of
economic behavior of households particularly with
respect to their final consumption expenditure and
savings, and investment in both fixed assets and
financial assets.

Primary Data Source for Household
Sector Accounts
• In the State of Qatar, Household Income and Expenditure
Survey (HIES) are conducted once in five years
• 2006-07 is the fourth in series; and
• The first was carried out in 1982 -1983 , while the
second was in 1988 and the third was in 2000/2001

Data Coverage
The income data is collected on all sources under the
following items:
1. Income from wages and salaries
2. Income from businesses and free enterprises
3. Income from profits and interest
4. Government transfers
5. Current transfers from others
6. Other incomes.

Data Coverage
7. Estimated rent value of the owned residence
occupied by the household
8. Estimated rent value of the residence given by
the employer
9. Estimates of Food stuffs and goods produced
