Transport | Getting to Durban
International flights: Direct flights now available to Durban’s new
King Shaka International Airport. Alternatively, delegates can fly to
Johannesburg & get a short one-hour domestic flight to Durban.
Durban is connected to the rest of the country through an excellent
bus network, serviced by buses of international standard.
The Shosholoza Meyl train connects Durban with other cities in
South Africa. The service offers two accommodation types –
tourist class, with sleeper accommodation, and economy class, with
catering in the dining car.

major events in the form of the Provincial Joint Operations (Prov
Joints).
Prov Joints includes SAPF, Metro Police, NIA, private security, justice,
home affairs and emergency services.
Durban has developed the most advanced Disaster Management
Centre
in Africa.
Safety and security planning encompasses the entire event from arrival
to
departure of delegates.
Durban is the only South African city that can offer an ‘island site’
i.e. totally secured precinct.
