Since 2002 Angola showed a strong real GDP growth and performed better than South Africa and the
average African Countries.

Angola is considered to be one of the strongest economies in Africa, not solely because of the GDP
growth rates but also due to the future prospects regarding the creation of wealth.
• Angola emerges as one of the main success
stories since 2002, registering double digit
average growth rate;
• The evolution of the Angolan GDP structure
demonstrates the commitment to diversify the
national economy away from the oil industry
 Agriculture, manufacturing, construction and
services were among the key gainers from
this diversification;
• In 2011 the rating of the Republic of Angola
was upgraded by Moody’s, S&P and Fitch,
conferring greater credibility and international
visibility on the Angolan economy.
