Financial statements filed with tax authorities
All businesses operating in Jamaica are required to file annual
returns to Tax Administration Jamaica(TAJ)
This takes the form of a financial statement including the
detailed schedules
STATIN has had a relationship with TAJ for over thirty years
that allows STATIN access to the data
STATIN staff are based at TAJ offices to extract data on
revenue, expenditure and fixed assets

(to meet quarterly GDP schedules) but significant data
gaps
