How does the HRA work?
> The District makes a severance contribution
into the HRA on your behalf based upon your
employment contract
> Contributions go into the HRA dollar for dollar
within 30 days upon your retirement
> MidAmerica mails you a welcome packet to
your home confirming the District contribution
> You submit eligible reimbursements to the
plan after receiving services and are reimbursed
by either paper check or automatic deposit

on MidAmerica’s website).

Use a digital copy of your
Explanation of Benefits (EOB),
prescription record or scan your
receipt.

Recurring Claims – Monthly Payments
Recurring claims are expenses that you incur on a monthly basis and
cost the same each month. Example: Health Insurance, Medication
1.Fill out the Recurring Claim Form found on MidAmerica’s website.
2.After paying your first bill, provide a copy of the bill, along with the
form, to MidAmerica either electronically or by paper mail. The bill
should state name of the expense, amount and frequency.
3.MidAmerica will send a check each month.
4.Participants are required to submit monthly documentation as proof of
continued payment, such as a cancelled check or receipt.
5.$5 fee for each reimbursement, not to exceed $30 per year.

• Flexible Spending Account dollars must be
exhausted prior to accessing the HRA
