History
Italian history is said to have started in the 20th
century B.C. There were three different tribes, the
Oscans, Umbrians, and Latins. Latin later became the
most powerful type of culture, and Rome was a
powerful place in 350 B.C. The Roman Empire later
took over Western Europe and the Mediterranean for
many centuries. After the fall of Rome in A.D. 476,
Italy became broken up. Parts of Italy were given to
the Spanish, the Austrian, and Napoleon I’s empire.
The “New Kingdom of Italy,” modernized Italy quickly
and helped it get back together after it’s fall.
