GENERAL COUNCIL
MGEP (MU) is the Faculty of Engineering of
Mondragon University. Three main activities:
• Teaching Engineering (about 1.800 students),
• Training to the industry (about 11.000 hours per
year)
• Research (around 14 M€/year, about 17
European projects)
Project idea and calls referred to EPHINVERTER
• Development of a photovoltaic solution at two levels: converter and
system
• Objectives:
• Develop ultra-compact and multifunctional solar converter based on Wide
Gap Band devices.
• Design a smart microgrid with high solar power injection capability for a rural
grid through Smart Transformer.
• Expected impact:
• Increase the solar generation efficiency, reduce the volume of solar converter
and increase the solar injection capability to the grid.
• Call: LCE-10-2017: Reducing the cost of PV electricity
Project idea and calls referred to EPHINVERTER
Multifunction converter:
Solar inverter
Power quality: reactive power compensator, active filter
Project idea and calls referred to EPHINVERTER
Low Voltage fluctuations by:
• Daily load variation
• Daily Medium Voltage variation
• Solar generation variability
Smart Transformer
• +/-10% Low voltage regulation capacity to compensate fluctuations
• Low voltage regulation increase the solar production injected to the grid
