OVERVIEW
Turn a Glove into a functional computer mouse. “ The
power of the mouse is your hand”!
Works like a mouse
Be able to take it anywhere with you
Multipurpose use glove.
Wireless
Comfortable fit
SKETCH/ DESIGN
MOTIVATION
How am I going to make this device more comfortable for the
user.
How am I going to make this device more appealing for all users
Maybe the user of the mouse was tired of holding the mouse in
their hands.
Target to older people: Some older age people aren’t able to grip
the mouse and have trouble using it.
This issue should be addressed because:
It can be useful for gamers.
Can lead to a more upgradable glove mouse.
I want the device to be more than just a glove.
INTRODUCTION
Types of computer mouse:
I.
Mechanical mouse/Ball mouse (The one with the ball
on the bottom)
II.
Optical mouse (The one with the LED on the bottom)
III. Wireless mouse
IV. G stick Mouse
V. Trackball Mouse
MECHANICAL/BALL
MOUSE
OPTICAL MOUSE
WIRELESS MOUSE
GSTICK
TRACKBALL MOUSE
WHAT THEY ALL HAVE IN
COMMON: THE CIRCUIT
BOARD!
SCHEMATICS OF A MOUSE
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Problems:
How the circuit board and mouse components are going to
fit in the glove.
How are the mouse parts going to be attached to the glove.
What kind of mouse type and glove should I use.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
CONT.
Should be wireless or wired?
What part of the Glove should I put the circuit board?
Constraint/limits:
Can not fit all or the extra buttons that the mouse provides
in the glove.
Can not do a lot of hand squeezing.
ASSUMPTIONS
Thought it was going to be easy!
Then I thought it was going to be hard!
Deal with a lot of adding and removing solder.
Deal with a low amount of electrical Voltage.
Cost of resources will be low ( under $50).
I assume that gamers are mostly going to use it.
A lot of mouses will be destroyed by me.
Need to have steady hands.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
Write down
problems I
would have
with the
project
Sketch and
design the
device
Research
about
different
mouse
types
Obtain all
possible
resources
Take apart
the mouse
and remove
the solder
from the left
and right
button
Cut the
glove to
make it
compatible
to installing
the mouse’s
circuit
board.
Solder the
wire to
where the
circuit board
and then
soulder left
button to
the wire
Make a
hole at the
bottom of
the glove to
install the
sensor of
the mouse
Carefully
install the
glove with
hot glue.
Trouble
shoot the
glove
RESULTS
Went through 3 mouses.
Expanded the left button of the mouse to my index finger.
Now the glove functions like an actual mouse.
TAKE A LOOK AT MY
VIDEO!
HERE IS ANOTHER VIDEO!
CONCLUSION
Very Happy about the completion of my device.
Glove works good but not perfect.
Planning is what help me a lot.
FUTURE WORK
Have the mouse be touch screen compatible.
Making the circuit board smaller and have more flexible
movement with it on.
Even turning the mouse glove into a smart glove. Which will
include:
Notification
Google speak
Microphone
Universal mouse capabilities
Hand warmer
Heart rate Checker
