Introduction
The 741 is the godfather of all operational amplifiers
(amplifiers on a chip).
One of its advantages is that it is compensated (its frequency
response is tailored) to ensure that under most curcumstances it
won't produce unwanted spurious oscillations.

Inverting and Non-Inverting amplifier
Inverting
If the voltage goes into pin two then it is known as an
INVERTING AMPLIFIER.
Non-Inverting
If the voltage goes into pin three then the circuit becomes
a NON-INVERTING AMPLIFIER.

The 741 is usually supplied in an 8-pin ‘DIL’ (Dual In Line) or
‘DIP’ (Dual Inline Package, or sometimes Dual Inline Plastic)
package with a pinout.
This has proved so popular that many other competing op-amps
have adopted the same package/pinout.

The LM741 series are general purpose operational amplifiers
which feature improved performance over industry standards
like the LM709.
They are direct, plug-in replacements for the 709C, LM201,
MC1439 and 748 in most applications.

The LM741C is identical to the LM741/LM741A except that
the LM741C has their performance guaranteed over a 0°C
to +70°C temperature range, instead of -55°C to +125°C.
