Preparation of the first cool down
 Many non conformities on cabling
 AC cables not crimped as per state of
the art
 DC cables with extensions
 Missing cable lengths
 Late or just in time (but too just)
installation of equipment
(electronics, cables, etc)
 Insufficient preparation of some
tests with respect to:
 Co-activities
 Access conditions
 Safety conditions
 It is the first one!

High voltage tests of every circuit at warm
 Ensure both insulation to ground and among circuits
 Record reference values for leakage currents and
transfer functions
 All the instrumentation electronics is not yet ready,
therefore it was decided to carry-out the tests
without it




all quench protection equipment disconnected from
DFB
all current lead heater cables disconnected from DFB
cryogenic instrumentation cables disconnected from
DFB
DC cables clamped to leads with insulation in between

… in summary
 Chasing all the completed warm
systems/components and organize
their commissioning
 Short circuit tests (power converters,
cabling, infrastructure) more than
half completed
 Preparing the cool down of the first
sector and … learning!
 Very worried for the availability of
resources beyond the first two sectors
