Appaloosa Horse
by Sabrina
This is an Appaloosa horse. It can be
14 to 16 hands tall and weighs 1,100
pounds. It has a spotted coat. It eats
grain and drinks water. To take care of it
you need to feed it and ride it for exercise.
Arctic Hares

This is an arctic hare. It is a large
rabbit. It has gray fur in the winter and
brown fur in the summer. It lives in
burrows underground. It eats roots, moss,
lichen, plants, leaves and berries.
Barracudas

This is a barracuda. It can be less than
5 feet long. It has a big mouth. It is a thin
fish with smooth, silver scales. It lives in
tropical ocean waters. It eats small fish,
herring and sardines.
Blue Jays

This is a blue jay. It can be 1 foot long.
It has a crest and a long tail. It lives in
woodlands. It builds messy nests in the
Eastern United States and Canada. It
eats nuts, stolen eggs, seeds and insects.
Cardinals

This is a cardinal. It can be 8 to 9 inches
tall. It has a crest on its head. The males
are bright red. It is a songbird or has a
musical call. It lives in North America and
Central America and nests in shrubs and
small trees. It eats seeds, fruit, buds,
insects, and food from bird feeders.
Cheetahs

This is a cheetah. It can be 7 feet long.
It has long legs, yellow or tan fur, and
black spots. It lives in Africa or Asia in
savannas or grassy areas. It eats
antelope.
King Cobras

This is a King Cobra. It is 18 feet long. It
has scales and dots on its body. It eats frogs,
reptiles, and small animals. It lives in Africa
and Asia in hot areas.
Ducks

This is a duck. It can be 1 to 2 feet. It
has a strong bill and webbed feet. It lives
in marshes and ponds. It eats worms,
insects, plants, and small animals.
Bald Eagle

This is a bald eagle. It can be 4 to 15
pounds. It has brown, black and white
feathers; strong talons; and a curved beak.
It lives in woodlands, rain forests, and
deserts. It eats fish, squirrels, rabbits and
small animals.
Falcons

crow or 1-2 pounds. It has black marks on
its face and pointed wings. It lives on
rocky cliffs. It eats pigeons, mice, rabbits,
birds, ducks and squirrels.
Ferrets

It has a short tail and legs, a long body
and dark fur around its eyes. It lives in a
tall cage. It eats food pellets and drinks
fresh water.
Hawks

wings. It is brown, gray, black or blue. It
lives everywhere except cold places. It
eats mice and frogs.
Kangaroos

to 6 feet tall. It has long feet, strong back
legs and a pouch. It lives in deserts,
grasslands, or forests. It eats grass and
plants and drinks water.
Kingfishers

head, a long bill, short legs, and a tail. It
lives around the world, mostly near water
and sometimes in the forest. It eats small
fish, small reptiles, frogs, and insects.
Leopards

pounds. It has spotted fur, sharp teeth
and long claws. It is a large wild cat. It
lives in Africa and Asia in shady forests. It
eats deer, gazelle, zebras, and birds.
Palomino Horses

to 17 hands tall. It has white marks on its
face or legs, a white or silver mane, and a
light or dark golden coat. It needs food
and water. It needs to be brushed.
Parrots

neck, strong feet and a hook-shaped beak.
It lives in dead tress and nests in holes in
warm forests. It eats nuts, fruit, seeds,
flowers, nectar and berries.
Pet Rabbits

tail, a wiggly nose, and long ears. It eats
raw vegetables, food pellets, timothy hay,
and fruit. It drinks water. It lives in large
cages indoors.
Bearded Dragons

feet long. It has scales, a gray or brown
body and a throat pouch. It lives in
Australia in the desert. It eats leaves,
lizards, insects, plants and rodents.
Salamanders

inches long. It has short legs and a long
tail. It lives in rotten logs and in the water.
It eats baby frogs, bugs and worms.
