Teacher Introduction
 I am a teacher from a high school. This web quest was
designed to sensitize students from the seven grade
about six parts of a plant and their functions. This is a
fun filled activity because students will get the
opportunity to draw the different parts of the plant in
their groups and research on the functions as well as to
present their wonderful art pieces. At the conclusion,
students will understand that a plant has different
parts and that each part has its functions.

 This website is used for seven graders. This is one
activity that will help students to learn about the
different parts of a plant and their functions.

 The students will do science by engaging in partial
enquiries that are within their developmental
capabilities.

 Introduce the lesson by explaining to students that
they will be going to the computer room to complete
various activities in relation to a plant.
 Show students a plant for them to identify and tell
what it is.
 Engage students in a brainstorming activity to find out
what they know about a plant.
 Instruct students to name the different parts of a plant,
then write them on chalkboard.

 Place students in six groups namely;
a) the stems b) the roots c) the leaves d ) the flowers
e) seeds f) fruits.
 Each group will observe the plant shown by teacher.
 Explain to students how to use the web quest including
going from introduction, task, process and conclusion.
 Explain how to click on the links and complete the
activities.

 Each group will click on their part of a plant to find
out more about their part and function . Then,
write a paragraph about their findings. Each group
will draw a picture of their part on cartridge paper
then colour.
 As a whole class activity, teacher will allow a
representative from each group to put their parts
together to make one plant. Teacher will observe to
see if they are in their correct places.
 Then each group will go to the completed plant
and point on their part and tell the function.


You are required to use the website to learn

and flowers.

You are also required to draw and present
your part of the plant and tell the function.

plant that is assigned to your group.
