Interesting Introduction!
How would you like to learn about giraffes? I
guaranty you'll get smarter. First of all, a giraffe is a
animal NOT a person just to make sure that you knew
that. I'll make sure that if you learn anything it WILL be
true. Well I hope that you'll have a great time learning
and have fun.
What in the world is a
giraffe?
Have you ever wondered about giraffes? Do they have a
world record? I'll tell you some important things that giraffe's have
or do. In 2009, giraffes got in the world record book because they
are the tallest mammal in the world and they are the fourth
heaviest mammal in the world. Female giraffes are very protective
to their calves. A giraffe has a thick coat of hair going down it's
back. Those are some main and important facts about giraffes.
Where do giraffes live?
(Biome)
What could they live in? Giraffes need the hot, lots of trees,
and water. They live in hot savannas in southern Africa. This
environment is intermediate between a grassland and a forest.
Savannas are located in dry tropics and subtropics. Ok. So you
know that. Let’s find out more. Ok?
Where do giraffes live?
(Habitat)
Well, do you really know where giraffes live. I can tell you one
thing. I can tell you. Giraffes live in savannas which are a flat type
of grass land. The savannas that they live in are in Africa. When
you are looking at a savannas, you’ll see that they have a few little
ponds for drinking, some trees that have leaves for the animals to
eat, and some short or tall grass. Savannas are a good place for
giraffes to live in because it pretty much covers what food and
other things they need to help them survive. So that is pretty much
where giraffes live and what the habitat looks like. I have one
more thing. Would you ever take a giraffe home? Well, would you?
What in the name of food
do giraffes eat?
Did you always wonder what giraffes eat. Do they eat other
animals? Do they eat grass or trees? Well, now is your chance to
find out. Giraffes have very long necks. Their long necks help
them reach leaves on high trees. When a giraffe is drinking water,
they also use their legs and necks to stretch down low to eat
grass. The giraffes use their long legs and long necks to help them
drink water. They spread their legs and their necks to bend down
low to help them drink water. Giraffes can go several days without
drinking water. Why you ask, because the leaves keep them
hydrated. Did you know that they also eat insects and flowers? So
pretty much, giraffe only eat insects, grass, leaves, and flowers,
and they only drink water and sometimes when they are calves,
they have to drink milk.
Giraffe’s Predator!
Ah!!!! The predator of the giraffe is the lion. When a lion is
near a giraffe the giraffe usually would fight back. The giraffe
would use its long two front legs to kick the lion and scare them
away. Also, the giraffe could also use their two knobs on the top of
their heads. Lions want the calves because they think their meat is
a lot more tasty. They want it more because it is easier to get to. .
Usually, the lion could get the giraffe before the giraffe could get
the lion. The lion wants the meats from the giraffe. Well, its
sounds good to the lions but me, not in this life time.
How are giraffes adapted
to their environment?
Giraffes are highly adapted to their
environment. A giraffe neck is long to they can
eat leaves. Their body has long legs to help
them drink water from down below. They live in
a very safe and healthy environment to help
them grow up healthy and strong. I told you.
Giraffes are highly adapted to their
environment.
Interesting Facts
Well, do you wan to learn some interesting facts about giraffes? I
know I do. A giraffe mouth has18 inch. long black-blue tongues.
Pretty gross. Am I right? They can run more than 30 miles per
hour, they do it so they can get exercise. Isn't that fast. Giraffes
are non-territorial, social animals. Male giraffes weight is between
2,400- 3,000 pounds. Female giraffes weight is between 1,6002,600 pounds. So those are just some interesting facts about
giraffes.
Curious Conclusion!
As you can see, giraffes are a wonderful animal found in the
savannas in Africa. They travel in large unorganized herds in
Africa's savannas and peacefully graze in the soft grasses. The
parents try to keep their calves with protection. It doesn't matter
how many spots it has but they all have their own unique way.
Well no matter where or who you are you can always say "Animal
great animal".
