Causes of
Dangerous Weather
Sever weather can vary from, thunderstorms, lightning,
hail, and tornadoes
It is caused by ancient Greek Gods, called
Hecatoncheires.
- There were three gods
- There were strong powerful gods that were able
to conduct severe weather.
- They were made of 100 hands and 50 heads,
having many responses at once
- There many hands were used for the wielding of
many violent storms
These gods were used by other gods for the most
powerful creations of violent storms.
Some of violent storms they contribute to was,
- lightning
- thunderstorms
- hurricanes
- tornadoes
They were summoned by Zeus, to rein their power other
gods (Titans) who cam to fight Zeus. They won the battle
and after was sent back down to the dungeon of Tartaros,
where they spent over one million years, to guard the
titans.
Current Scientific Discoveries
of
Severe Weather
Science
has proven that heat transfer, weather fronts, and the placement in
the atmosphere are the causes to the weather.
Weather is affected by three factors,
- atmospheric pressure
- water
- temperature
The weather of earth is caused to the mixture of different climates.
- warm front: when warm air overtakes the cold air, which is
due increasing temperatures and
- cold front: air pushes in which causes the warm air to push
up. This is caused by precipitation and decrease in
temperatures (cold air is stronger than warm air).
Most responsible for the heating and cooling of earth’s atmosphere is the
radiation of the sun and the earth.
Severe Weather in Their Making
Severe weather occurs when
light warm air rises quickly
higher and higher into the
atmosphere and in which
colder levels are in an unstable
updraft that can reach over
100 miles per hour.
• Lightning, which
happens through
thunderstorms, are
when bolts of electricity
are heating up the small
particles in the air.
Tornadoes
Thunderstorms:
when humid
air near the ground pushes
upward mixing with surface
winds, in which it rise to
unstable atmosphere.
are caused when
columns of air suspend from large
clouds and eventually contacting
the ground in a funnel shape. They
are the worst types of weather
because of all of the damage they
construct and their abundance of
power.
