Pangolin
By: Krittika Banerji
Introduction
A pangolin is a very unknown animal. But if
you do take the time to learn about this animal,
you will find it very interesting.
Defense
Although this
animal is pretty small,
it defends itself in
interesting ways. To
defend itself it may roll
into a tight ball, squirt
smelly liquid from
glands in it’s rear, or
even urinate on the
animal that threatens
it. EWW!
Adaptations
Adaptations help an
animal live, and that’s
exactly how these features
help a pangolin. A pangolin
has a long snout and tongue
to help it get it’s food. It also
has hard flat scales to protect
it. All of these physical
adaptations help a pangolin
live.
Fun Fact
Did you know there are
only seven species of pangolins?
This is only one of the fun facts I
will tell you. A pangolin does not
have scales on it’s snout, face,
throat, belly or inner sides of its
legs. Instead these areas are
fleshy and hairy. A long tailed
pangolin is the smallest species of
pangolins. It only weighs three or
four pounds. The giant pangolin
is the biggest species of
pangolins. It is almost six feet
long. COOL!
Conclusion
After reading this report, you can
understand how cool a pangolins life is.
I hope you enjoyed reading about this
animal as much as I enjoyed
researching it!!
