Newton's Fist Law
What is Newton’s first law of motion and why is it
often referred to as the law of inertia?
An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in
motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed
and in the same direction unless acted upon by an
unbalance force. The degree at which objects resist a
change in their motion is related to their mass. Mass is
a property of inertia

Treena was too frightened to
go on the “Tower of Terror”
ride. This ride accelerates you
up and down in a rapid series.
How would Ms. Sola have felt
as the ride was accelerating
downward.
A) very heavy
B) very light
C) very green
Explain, using Newton’s first
law of motion, how an airbag
could help save your life in
an accident?
A paper airplane is thrown into the air with a velocity of
7.5 m/s at an angle of 56.0° above the horizontal. How far
can the airplane be expected to travel horizontally?
