PHYSICS PROJECT
Work
 Work is the amount of energy transferred by
a force acting through a distance.
 Example: Someone serves a ball 13 m in 1.32s.
how much work was done on the ball? (mass
of a ball is .226kg). Answer: 10.96j
Force
 a force is any influence that causes a free
body to undergo an acceleration.
 Example: A served ball travels 14.6m in 1.3s.
what force did the server apply to the ball?
Answer: 1.95N
Acceleration
 Acceleration is the rate of change
of velocity as a function of time.
 Example: A ball is served at a player with a
velocity of 15m/s. when the girl passes the
ball the velocity is changed to 10m/s. it takes
1.2 second to reach the setter. what was the
acceleration of the ball? Answer: 4.17m/s^2
