• The cause of motion (what

• Measured in Newton (N)
Inertia
• The tendency of an
object to resist any
change in motion.
- at rest, stay at rest
- in motion, stay in motion
Friction
A force that opposes motion
between 2 surfaces that are
touching.
Produces heat
Momentum
• A property of a moving object that
depends on an objects MASS and
VELOCITY.
The more momentum and object
has, the harder it is to stop the object
or change its direction.
Law of conservation of
momentum
• When 2 or more
objects interact,
momentum may be
exchanged, but the
total amount of
momentum does
not change.
