In the new unified Europe regions
exceeding national, linguistic and
political borders are becoming more
and more actual because their
common characteristics are rooted in
the land and in the history of the
inhabitants
Priority developments of
Danube Euro-region
• Development of environmental infrastructure:
Bridges over the Danube with European
support
- Maria Valeria bridge at Esztergom/Parkany
- new bridge planned at Komarom/Komarno
• Improvement of shipping on the Danube
• Building of bicycle-roads
• Enlargement of accommodation capacity
The Danube is the most important resource of the region
considering tourism and other sectors of economy and
recreation possibilities of local inhabitants. After accession to
the European Union the river is not a separating border
between the two neighbouring countries but a common
potential and its development is the mutual interest of both
nationalities. The general aim of river port-system
development is the exploitation of this common potential.
Port-system development has diverse aims:
• It makes crossing the Danube possible for the
settlements of the region, it makes easier to cross the
inner borders of the European Union while strengthening
trans-border relations
• It promotes the increase of river tourism
• It creates relaxation possibilities for local inhabitants
• It connects the region directly to the passenger transport
over the Danube
Cooperation established and getting

These companies usually register their
enterprises in regions inhabited by
Hungarian minorities, they create working
places there, they pay taxes there, while
contributing to the improvement of the
living standards of the local population and
community.
Dating from 2005 the Hungarian Government
has
supported the realization of plans of these companies within
its Motherland Programme through 4 institutions (MFB,
Corvinus, Eximbank, Mehib), with the active participation of
2 organizations (ITDH, UKKA) .
An example of a Hungarian company
investing is Slovakia
The TriGranit Group focuses its greatest resources on its
current developments in Hungary and Slovakia. Its reliable
financial productivity, its obvious professional past and its
determined town-development idea together ensure that
TriGranit plays a definite role in the close competition in
existing and new markets and in the opening up new markets.
Hungary’s role in history is to act as a bridge between the
west and the east. Taking advantage of and strengthening
this position TriGranit forms its strategy and plans its
investments. The complex built in Bratislava, the Slovakian
capitol is a successful example for its innovative real estate
development activity.

I love and respect
the Danube.
It is one of the
main European
communication and
transport lines of
Hungary.
While recording
with my painting kit
the colours, the
greens, the blues,
the yellows, the
trees, the water
soaked in my soul.
I tried to fix the
view, the two
banks. Gardens
reaching the
riverside, flat river
pebbles, the sand
banks and
shallows.
The river divides
the mountains, the
meadows into two
parts, while
preserving the
natural beauty on
both sides.
Nobody is allowed
to alter this sight of
the Danube bend.
The Danube
cannot be moved
from its usual bed.
On my paintings
the dignified, silent
Danube can be
seen, not the river
sometimes with
dangerous
currents,
whirlpools and
floods that can’t be
predicted.
However all of us
know that the
Danube is for us
and not against
us.
The Danube links
the two banks.
People on both
sides plan their
common future in
harmony
depending on
each other.
That’s why I chose
the presentation of
the Danube
region.
