It grew from a
small town on a
river to a
bustling city.

Dorothea Lange:
Dorothea Lange
is famous for
taking pictures of
people during the
Great Depression
and posted them
in newspapers.
She convinced
people to help in
different
programs.
Dorothea was
born in 1895.
Alice Paul:
Alice Paul was
Born in
Moorestown,in
1885. She was
a leader to help
women get
their rights.She
founded the
National
Women’s Party
in 1913 and got
women’s right
to vote in 1920.
Frank Sinatra:
Frank Sinatra was
born in 1915.He
was a popular
singer for 50 years.
He acted in over 60
films, winning an
Academy Award in
1953, for his role in
