Mobile Backhaul Market Drivers
 Evolution to Cloud Services

Move to the Cloud reduces individual capital expenditures and
shifts these individual demands to a centralized Data Center and
increases mobile traffic
 Explosion of Video and Over The Top (OTT) Traffic

These applications are driving more and more traffic over the
mobile network
 Explosion of Smart Phones

Always connected
 Tons of new and data hungry applications

With Existing FW9500 ROADM
 Add MEF Services with S100
 S100 for L2 and FW9500 for ROADM
 Virtuora manages S100 L2 services
and FW9500 ROADM
 Some OSS/BSS work may be required
15
With Existing FW9500 L2, Initially
 Cap FW9500 L2 and grow S100
 NS1500 manages FW9500 L2 services
 Virtuora manages S100 L2 services
 Some OSS/BSS work may be required
Fujitsu Proprietary and Confidential All Rights Reserved, ©2015 Fujitsu Network Communications
Virtuora FW9500 Layer 2, Plan of Vision
S100 / FW9500 Layer 2 Interop
 FW9500 and S100 have the same Egress shaper, thus,
from a queuing point of view, they are compatible
 Virtuora support for FW9500 Layer 2, PoV




Single management of both FW9500 L2 services and S100 L2 Services
Allows for a single service that encompasses both S100 and FW9500 L2
Allows for S100 to aggregate CDS 10G rings and 10G from FW9500 into a single 100G
Some OSS/BSS work may be required

S100 / FW5300 Layer 2 Interop
 FW9500 and FW5300 have the similar Egress shaper, thus, from a queuing point of
view, they are compatible
 Although without Virtuora support it is not viable to connect and manage them as a
single service
 It is possible to provision a E-Line (UNI to UNI/INNI) on FW5300 Via NS1200 and
connect it to an E-Line (UNI/INNI to UNI) on S100 via Virtuora, but you don’t have a
single service, you see two services in different systems

3rd Party Other Interop Details
 S100 interop with 3rd party L2 networks requires support for
E-Access.
 E-Access is not currently on the roadmap
 Current S100 does not preclude E-Access support
 E-Third party ( FW5300 with L2, can be considered 3rd party)
