Internet Services
Vodacom’s Business Services division is made up of various towers of operations, with
business units responsible for different areas of development, management and
support. The Internet Services Business Unit focuses on delivering premium Business
Internet Services, over a range of different Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access mediums.
Different Internet Access offerings are available, based on customer requirements with
optional service level agreements associated in regards to availability, latency, packet
loss and contention ratios.
In order to cater for various customer requirements, Vodacom has developed the
following two categories of Internet access services:
• BIA – Broadband Internet Access
• DIA – Dedicated Internet Access
These offerings meet the requirements of various market segments, namely:

DIA – Product Overview
• What is meant by Dedicated Internet Access (DIA)?
• Dedicated Internet Access means that the access bandwidth with
which a customer connects to our core-network is NOT shared. It is
made fully available only to that customer.
• DIA is offered as a blended service over multiple cable systems
ensuring a robust architecture and built in redundancy
• Vodacom Business offers Dedicated Internet Access to different
business segments, through various fixed and wireless access
technologies:

DIA – Product Overview
• DIA Premium
o DIA Premium is the flagship internet access service provided by VB. DIA Premium offers
the highest prioritization and capacity procured is fully allocated to the customer.
o Both local and international traffic enjoy full capacity at all times. The service is available
in increments of 64Kbps.
• DIA Direct
o DIA Direct is designed to offer superior performance and faster Internet speeds, costeffectively
o Local bandwidth portion is also non contended
NOTE: DIA Premium & DIA Direct are differentiated by their respective SLD/As
• DIA Local Only
o DIA Local Only offers a capacity fully allocated to the customer.
o This service is procured over and above what the clients international requirement is, as
international takes preference over local

Dedicated Internet Access - DIA
• Vodacom Business’ Premium Internet Access service
• Corporate, Tier 2 ISPs & Larger SMMEs
• Large Capacities (1Mbps up to and over 155Mbps)
• Multi Access methods – Vodacom has the flexibility to provide
access to the core network via multiple access types. As such,
redundancy can be provided using both fixed and mobile access
from a single point.
• Managed Service
o Remote Monitoring and Support
o On-site installation and support
o Account, Project and Service Management
• Standard SLD will apply however…
• Service Level Agreements on Availability and Performance (Delay or
RTT, Packet Loss & availability) is optional
• IP address’ – a block of 8 (/29) is assigned as default (more may be
ordered but motivational is required)
