The following are some recommendations for infection
control proposed by the CDC: keep hands clean by
A. Keep hands clean by washing thoroughly with soap and
water for at least 30 seconds
Or
B. Keep hands clean by washing hands using an alcoholbased hand rub for at least 15 seconds
C. Keep cuts and scrapes clean and covered with a bandage
until healed
D. Avoid contact with other people’s wounds and bandages

Patient Identification
FIRST and best way to identify for the RIGHT
patient is to have them STATE their name and
birthday.
SECOND is to check the name bracelet.
BOTH of these should be done prior to any patient
