What is SHINE?
• Increases the availability of youth (ages 10-25) specific health care
services in Edmonton’s inner city
– Youth relate to students more than to the average physician ?
• Extends the hours of an already existing clinic:
– Boyle McCauley Health Centre

• Accommodation
– Dental Clinic
• Transportation
• Patient demographics
• Familiarity
• Consists of interdisciplinary student teams providing health care
services
• Provides services under the tutelage of current health professionals
