1.
Mention the % of food types you eat from the 4 main food groups.
I usually eat baked potato which contains 90 calorie. I should eat small baked potato which
contains less calorie. I have to approximate my serving sizes. Also, I should eat three to five
servings of vegetables (lettuce, celery, spinach, etc.) a day, but each serving of vegetables only has
five grams of carbohydrates. I should eat two to four servings of dairy a day (each serving contains
12 grams of carbohydrates and 30% of the recommended daily amount of calcium.
2. Compare your % values for the 4 main food groups with the recommended % values.
I have to eat different type of food that contains Carbohydrates 40 to 60%,Fat 20 to 30%, and
Protein 10 to 15%. I realize that I have to eat three meals each one has to contain all the four types
which are meat and milk, fat and sweet, fruit and vegetables, bread and cereals.
3. What diet changes should you make?
I have to increase drinking water and reduce fat. Also, I should eat more of vegetables, grains such as
whole wheat bread, and calcium-rich foods such as yogurt, cheese, and milk every day.
4. Are you eating enough calories?
(see http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3040366)
According to the American heart association, and according to my age , gender, and level of my
activity I should be eating 2000 calories a day.
