His theory
• Lyotard rejected what he called the „grand
narratives“ or the „meta-narratives“.
• Grand narratives refers to the great thoeries
of history,science, religion and politics.
• For exmple he reject the idea that everything
is knowable by science or that as history
moves in time, humanity makes progress.
• He also rejectes the idea of aboslute freedom
Biography
• He was born in France on the 10.August.1924 and
died on the 21.April.1998
• He was a French philosopher, sociologist and
literary theorist
• His main topics were about knowledege and
communication, the human body, modernist and
postmodern art, music and film.
• He most know work is his theory about
postmonderinsm after the late 1970s and the
impact of postmodernity on the human
condition.
