Clues That
Communicate
This Organizing Idea
can help you
understand the
importance of
communication in
your life at home, in
school, and in the
world beyond.
This six weeks, you can learn
all about
communication.
You can begin by making
science and social studies
notebooks.
You can also discover
various signs and symbols
that will offer clues to
good health and safety.
By studying maps and globes
using latitude and longitude,
symbols, a compass rose
and scale, you can explore
the Five Themes of
Geography.
Next, you can study some
earth science by exploring
the causes for seasons,
moon phases, tides, and
what they can communicate.
Finally, you can use what you
have learned in this unit to
solve logic problems,
find treasure, and
create an island.
