Briefest of the universal emotions

experiencing it!

tend to droop, giving a sleepy look

Very similar in appearance to surprise

May have different meanings for different people
Vary across cultures
May be intentional or unintentional
May receive more attention than verbal messages
If the non-verbal contradicts the verbal … the
receiver will believe the nonverbal message
