• Searching for information is faster
• Data entry is faster
• Easy to read and understand
• Allow information to be censored
– For example, a hotel reservation form posted on
the web may allow users to select a type of room
and the arrival and departure dates, but prevent or
hide users from viewing the details of the hotel
rates.

Common Elements
of Forms
• Graphics – lines, shapes, images
• Data – content from records in the database
• Calculations – forms can contain formulas that perform
calculations
• Controls – define how data can be entered, viewed, or
used in calculations
• Descriptive text – help text and hints for users
• Subforms – forms embedded in and connected to a
main form through a common field.
