• The battle of bull run
happened on July 21,
1861. Bull run was the first
major conflict of the
American civil war. The
union army was made of
28,000 men and was lead
general Mcdowll. The
south had 33,000 men
and was lead by general
Beauregard. The union
had put this thought in
there head to crush the
south and take Richmond.
The sun is where the
union wanted to strike
• The union had the south
going to back to there
camp until General
Jackson refused to
retreat and that’s how he
got the name “stonewall”
Jackson. He held the
union until 9,000 southern
troops came and made
“stonewall” Jackson and his stone wall barraged
the union retreat. And
that’s when the south told
the union that this was
not going to be a one
sided battle. The south’s
total death went up to
2,000. and the north had
a total amount of deaths
was 2,900.
