Music Therapy Quotes
 "Music therapy is much more
complicated than playing records in
nursing homes. Therapists are
trained in psychology, group
interaction, and the special needs of
the elderly."
-Senator Harry Reid
“Patients with neurological disorders who cannot talk or move are often
able to sing, and sometimes even dance, to music. Its advocates say music
therapy also can help ease the trauma of grieving, lessen depression and
provide an outlet for people who are otherwise withdrawn.”
–Dr. Oliver Sacks (Awakenings)
Finale and Music Therapy
 Can be used to:
 help troubled adolescents or people coping with
traumatic events express feelings through songwriting
 arrange music to the client’s specific needs
 improvise and compose music with clients with
deteriorating conditions (keeps them healthier longer)
Music therapist is working with elderly patients at an assisted
living facility. They want to organize a choir to improve their
social interaction and to stimulate their minds. Most can read
music, but don’t want to participate because they have bad
eyesight and can’t see the music.
Finale offers the option to increase the size of music parts.
