Target group
Teachers, pre-school teachers, social workers and
all others interested in using music, drama and
other aesthetic means in integration work.

Goals
- to qualify the students to work with aesthetic
subjects in multicultural settings.
- to qualify the students to work with multicultural
understanding in education and other integration
work.
- to gain experience with cross-cultural collaboration
in a multicultural classroom
- to increase the students' level of multicultural
understanding.

Multicultural understanding
This module gives a theoretical introduction to the
field multicultural understanding. One will focus on
different ways of understanding and constructing
identity in multicultural societies, and how different
strategies are used in multicultural meetings.
Topics which this module focuses on are: culture,
identity, ethnicity, nationality, values, attitudes,
world-views, stereotypes and prejudice.

Drama
This module gives an introduction to drama and gives
competence in leading drama- and theatre activities with
groups in different social arenas. The goal is to use drama in
self-development and group processes and to use drama
methods for working with democratic processes and social
awareness

Theatre
Stories about ourselves and our backgrounds are an
important part of who we are. In the theatre module
we will work with different techniques of storytelling
and dramatizing to increase the confidence and ability
to share such stories, and help others in finding the
strength to do so.

Music
This module focuses on different traditional and
popular music traditions in relation to issues like
identity, ethnicity, place, politics, migration and
global cultural flow.
Topics include:
- Globalization and global cultural flow
- Performing the Other - ensemble work
- Teaching music globally
