B. SIX REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL
LIVING ORGANISMS.
WRITE DOWN the 3 most
important:

(#2) The diagram below shows a cell.
QUESTION: The cell shown by the diagram is most likely an
ANIMAL CELL or PLANT CELL? (Type answer):
Give 1 pieces of evidence to support your answer:
Type answer :
NAME____________________________ PER __
(#3) A student in a science lab makes a chart to document the structures
and organelles seen in three different cell samples using the microscope:
QUESTION: The student hypothesizes that SAMPLE 3 is a PLANT cell.
Do you agree with the student?
Explain why you agree or disagree with the student. What are 2-3
pieces of EVIDENCE from the chart above that supports your answer?

(#4) You are an expert 7th grade science student. Your old 3rd
grade teacher wants you to visit and talk to the new 3rd
graders about what you know about cells and bacteria.
The students all say they think bacteria are just little bugs
and can only make you sick.
Do you agree? What would you say to these 3rd graders to
explain the TRUTH about bacteria? Give more than one
example of EVIDENCE you would use to support your
explanations.

(#5) Students in a science class looked at some pond
water and saw many PROTOZOANS like in the picture.
They observed them swimming around and even eating
other cells.
Student A said: “They’re just like us! They’re little
animals. Like little worms or something.”
Do you agree with Student A? Explain and give evidence
and reasoning to support your answer.

(#6) A teacher asks groups of students to describe the
difference between a mouse and an elephant.
Group 1 says that an elephant has more cells than a mouse,
but all the cells in mice and elephants are basically the
same.
Group 2 says that an Elephant’s cells grow bigger and
bigger and the cells are all bigger than a mouse’s cells.
Group 3 says that an Elephant has more cells than a mouse,
but since Elephants and mice are different organisms, their
cells are very different and have different organelles and
parts.
Which group do you agree most with? Explain and give
some evidence or reasons to support your answer.
