1. Money
• According to ability
• 2 Corinthians 8:3 For I testify that they gave as
much as they were able, and even beyond
their ability.
• Galatians 6.6 Anyone who receives instruction
in the word must share all good things with
his instructor.
• Matthew 4.7 Jesus answered him, “It is also
written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the
test.
• Malachi 3.10
• Giving is partnering with God in His global
purpose.
2. Senses
• Five senses
• optic, auditory, olfactory, gustatory and tactile.
• (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.)
• Eyes
• Matthew 6.22,23 “The eye is the lamp of the
body. If your eyes are good, your whole body
will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad,
your whole body will be full of darkness.
• Proverbs 20:12 The hearing ear and the
seeing eye, the Lord has made them both.
• Ears
• Mark 4.24
• Hearing is an intentional active process.
• Ecclesiastes 1:8 The eye never has enough of
seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.
3. Thoughts
• Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart come evil
thoughts…
• 1 Chronicles 28:9 the LORD searches all
hearts, and understands every intent of the
thoughts….
• Regulate the senses
• Rationalize away a wrong thought
• 2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments
and every pretension that sets itself up against
the knowledge of God, and we take captive
every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
• Replace with the right thought
• Philippians 4.8 Finally, brothers, whatever is
true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever
is admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such things.
• Thoughts, like most things human, grow when
they are fed.
4 Time
• Ephesians 5:15-16 Therefore be careful how
you walk, not as unwise men but as
wise, making the most of your time, because the
days are evil. (NASB)
• Whatever keeps me from spending time with
God, however good it appears, is my enemy if I
am to be a disciple of God.

• The primary way to tell the difference
between wasting and investing is to evaluate
it in the light of the ultimate purpose.
• Don’t let the gifts distract you from the Giver.
• We tend to worship the gifts more than the
Giver.
• Are spiritual things a negotiable?
