Preventing Dental Diseases
Repairing of Replacing Diseased or Damaged

Treating the gingiva (gums)

Most dental professionals work in general
dentistry practices where all types of dental
conditions are treated in people of all ages.
Some however work in specialty areas.

Endodontics:



Treatment of diseases of the pulp, nerves, blood
vessels, and roots of the teeth.

Orthodontics:

Alignment or straightening of the teeth, mouth,
and jaw

Oral Surgery:

Surgery on the teeth, mouth, and jaw
Dental treatment of children and adolescents
Periodontics:

Treatment and prevention of diseases of the
gums, bone, and structures supporting the
teeth.

Prosthodontics:

Replacement of natural teeth with artificial teeth
