Open soft tissue injuriesabrasions, lacerations, avulsions,
and puncture wounds.

Abrasion-injury that occurs when
several layers of skin are torn loose
or totally removed.
Treatment
Clean with peroxide/H2O & soap
Leave open if not oozing,
otherwise cover with nonstick
dressing and antibiotic ointment.

Lacerations/cut-injury that results
form a tear in the skin
Larger than .25 in deep and .5 in
long needs stitches.
Treatment
Clean with soap
and water only.

Clean with soap and water.
Replace the skin over the wound
so it can heal.
