 The Asian Acne Board (AAB) was formed to help improve
the understanding and treatment of acne in Asia

Dermatologists with an interest in acne from Australia,
India, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South
Korea, Thailand, USA
Formed in 2005 as regional board of international Global
Alliance to Improve Outcomes in Acne
Asian Acne Board Research
Grant Program
 In 2010, the AAB established a research grant
program for acne research in Asia
 The award is $10 000 USD

Supported by an unrestricted educational grant from
Galderma International
 Program was formally introduced at the 2011
World Congress of Dermatology in Seoul
 Also publicized through Asian national
dermatology societies and DermQuest.com

Eligibility Criteria for AAB
Research Award
 Original basic or clinical research
projects – one year period
 Open to dermatology residents, fellows
and recent dermatology graduates
 Results to be summarized for
presentation at an international
dermatologic meeting within 2 years
