Why study Visual Communication Design?
A major in Visual Communication Design educates and
prepares students to conceive and create unique and
meaningful solutions to satisfy the visual communication
needs of society. Graduates are prepared to design
experiences as well as artifacts, embrace change as a
constant, and to work in collaborative environments.
Theory and practice are covered in a variety of contexts,
including process and principles, form and content, type
and image, user-experience, and interdisciplinary
projects. Current technology and future trends are
addressed in the context of industry practices and
community participation.
Career Opportunities
Career options for graduates with a degree in Visual
Communication Design include positions in graphic
design, Web, IxD, or UX design, multimedia design,
advertising, printing, publishing, or related fields. A
Bachelor's degree in visual communication design
qualifies you for more upward mobility and supervisory
roles.
